In my earlier post I had shared some Early Readers / Chapter Books by Indian Authors and this post is about few of our other favourite 'Chapter Books' which 'A', enjoyed reading. Not only we read but we even watched movies based on two of the books, "Charlie and the chocolate factory" & "Matilda" and they were a delight too.
The books listed here range from being humorous, to magical and taking the reader on an exciting adventure. Thus, it's a great mix to get young readers engaged into meaningful reading, explore new vocabulary and enhance their language skills.
1. Stink: The Super-Incredible Collection
3. Roald Dahl Collection

3. The Rainbow Magic Fairies
Also, the fact that most of them are series keeps the reader looking forward to the next title and hence the reading momentum stays intact. For this age group, you may extend their reading to some advanced book based activities like:
1. Summarize the story.
2. Retell the story from the selected character point of view.
3. Draw similarities/differences with the story lead character and yourself.
4. Create storyboards which depicts different scenes from the book.
5. Look for rhyming words from the story. Can you add more rhyming words to these? Create a bank of rhyming words etc. The list can continue and activities can be modified/adapted basis the book your child has picked to read.
Hoping you liked my suggestions and if YES, please do Like. Share. Save this post!
