Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls - Just Perfect Bedtime Stories For Your Children !

There are some good books, there are some even great books and then there our books which may just touch our lives immensly. These books tell stories which awaken us, make us feel content, stories with which we immediately connect with, stories which drive us to pick the book up again and again.

Today, I'm sharing one such book; which I came across via Facebook (thanks to the Social Media) through one of my college friend DKB - Divya Kanchan Baras (that's how we have been addressing her since our college days :) ). The title of the book was fascinating enough for me to pick it up for my Ms. A. What I didn't know was that the stories in the book will turn out to be very inspiring for my daughter and she would look forward everyday to meet one of the heroines from this book.

The book is called Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls. Illustrated by sixty female artists from every corner of the globe and written by Elena Favilli & Francesca Cavallo . This book introduces us to one hundred remarkable women and their extraordinary lives, from Lakshmi Bai to Ada Lovelace to Malala, Elizabeth I to Serena Williams. Empowering, moving and inspirational, these are true fairy tales for heroines who definitely don't need rescuing.

So the first time I read the book to Ms. A, I made her flip the pages of the book and pick the stories she wanted me to read first. We started off first with Amelia Earhart who was an aviator 👩‍✈️ from United States of America 🇺🇸 then we moved onto Yusra Mardini who was a swimmer 🏊 from Syria 🇸🇾 and the next selection was Rani Laxmi Bai, the queen 👸 and the warrior from India 🇮🇳. We also brought our world 🌎 map 🗺 to use while getting to know these great women and also learnt to find their respective countries onto the map 🗺

I loved the message in the beginning of the book;

To the rebel girls of the world:

Dream bigger

Aim higher

Fight harder

And,  when in doubt, remember

You are right.

The length of the stories, the illustrations, the narrative, every single thing is just perfect. We have read these stories many times already and we keep reading them again and again. We will be reading the book today again, to celebrate the Women's Day. How, I wish I had Goodnight stories for rebel girls, when I was a little girl.

Wish you all a very Happy Women's Day & Happy Raising Rebel Girls!
